Los Angeles: Actors Rose Byrne and Jenna Ortega are set to star in the sports drama "Nasty."
The film will be directed by Mary Bronstein, best known for Yeast, and will be released through Warner Bros.' new independent film label, Clockwork, according to entertainment outlet Variety.
The project reunites Byrne and Bronstein following their collaboration on If I Had Legs I'd Kick You, which was released in 2025. Byrne earned her first Academy Award nomination for Best Actress for her performance in the film.
Nasty follows an athlete fighting for a place on the Olympic gymnastics team, only to realise that her toughest challenge is not another competitor but her own coach.
The film is being produced by Margot Robbie's LuckyChap Entertainment, with Jenna Ortega also serving as a producer.
Ortega will next appear in Klara and the Sun, directed by Taika Waititi, in which she plays the title character.
Meanwhile, Byrne is set to star in the Peacock series The Good Daughter, created by Karin Slaughter and adapted from her bestselling novel. She will portray Samantha Quinn.
